Charity Fundraiser In Memory of Emma Hermann - July 6th 2007
This fundraiser raised £2200 for Doctor Kershaws hospice and was organised
to honour the memory of Emma a friend of MLC who performed with us once
on vocals. Emma lost her fight against cancer earlier this year. The fantastic
amount raised is a measure the high esteem Emma was held in and also of the
effort relatives and friends put into organising this event. A couple of videos
below of MLC performing on the night again without the use of a safety net.
Thanks to Ian Stutt for video content.

For the Oldham branch of the Chernobyl Childrens Lifeline (CCL)charity.
A group that provides respite holidays for children effected by the nuclear

Fundraiser For St Pauls Development Fund (Shaw) - OCT 12th 2007
A gig at Shaw Masonic Hall helped raise in the region of £450 towards
the development fund for St Pauls Methodist Church, Shaw. MLC provided
all the evenings entertainment, non of those pesky DJ’s knocking about here!
Once again we showed our adaptability producing three sets including some
hurriedly resurrected numbers to fit the bill and all without the safety net of
a sound check. MLC CD sales on the night contributed £18.00 to the fund.
Sorry no pictures of this one!.
Heyside CC Social Committee Festive Afternoon - Dec 09th 2007
A well supported gig at Heyside cricket club organised by the clubs social
committee raised a healthy total in excess of £450 of which MLC recieved the
generous sum of £200. This was donated to the local hospice ‘Dr Kershaws’.
The afternoon was all about mulled wine, mince pies and music and was a great
success thanks to the hard work of the organisers. We may have pictures soon.
The Turner Family Celebration - Jan 05th 2008
A great way to start the new year this! Michael (our bassist) decided to
celebrate a few family milestones that had been passed or achieved in the
previous twelve months. The celebration took the form of an evening of
live music with some of the Turner family’s troubadour friends, Steve Bennett
Ian Clevedon, Trevor Mills as wells as MLC and of course Sarah Turner.
It turned out to be a great night, thoroughly relaxed and the vibes suggest
enjoyed by all. In lieu of any gifts Michael and family took donations to pass
on to Charity raising in excess of £500. Michael is going to divide this sum
between two charities CLIC (Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood) and
The Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust. A couple of pickies below
more to come soon.
