Michael Turner :-

This isn’t actually an autobio from Michael but me, Bernie, pulling a few facts together for the sake of MLC bio completeness.

Michael was born in 1954 in Oldham and is married to Mary, they have  two wonderful daughters, Jenny and Sarah. Aged sixteen he developed a passion for the guitar and a love for the music of groups like The Beatles, The Hollies and The Shadows. These two things combined led to him gigging with many local bands. Whilst the responsibilities of being husband and dad may have curtailed his troubadour ways his love of music has always been constant. He has a variety of music tastes ranging from 60’s Rock through to Folk Music and Country.
Michael took up his troubadour ways again with MLC in May 2003 and has been an essential part ever since. Besides being a member of MLC Michael also appears at many folk clubs with his talented daughter Sarah who sings and plays several instruments including keyboards and the mandocello.

His love of music and The Beatles gave rise to a booklet about The Beatles and the time they played a couple of gigs in Oldham and Middleton more details about this can be seen by clicking here.

Michael is also a passionate rugby league fan and an even keener Oldham Roughyeds fan, he rarely misses a game.  He is an integral member of the Oldham Rugby League Heritage Trust maintaining the history of the club at many levels for future generations. His interest and knowledge of the club has seen him write two books  about the club :-
KANGAROOS, KIWIS and ROUGHYEDS
The latter is a recently published hardback and a very well produced book for any rugby fan.

If you are interested in any of Michaels publications drop MLC a line and I’ll  pass it on.
