Alan Humphries :-
Born 1961 in Manchester, England (I'm not as old as I look and therefore only just qualify for a mid-life crisis) . I moved to Oldham when I married (the long suffering) Janet. We have two children, Clare and John both of whom are excellent musicians and so spend most of the time wearing earplugs to avoid their father's 'twanging and wailing'. It was in fact Clare who gave the fledgling Mid Life Crisis it's name. I'm a police officer in Oldham.... not much to add there.
As for leisure time, given my Mancunian roots (born bred and buttered in Newton Heath then New Moston) it will come as no surprise that I am a keen Manchester..........United supporter (so much for the myth that all reds are southerners eh!).
Musical tastes are many and varied, but of all the 'Crisis' members I'm probably the one most inclined to a bit of 'modern' stuff. I can often be heard murdering the latest Travis, Oasis, Coldplay or Stereophonics song. The emphasis for me is definately on the word song and therefore influences include The Beatles (in particular McCartney), Paul Simon, James Taylor etc. etc......I'm also a bit of a blues/soul/motown fan. Fave' guitarist?...well...Eric, obviously. I'm just having a whale of a time
